Dental Crowns Tempe AZ

Broken, chipped, worn or badly decayed teeth can be restored with porcelain crowns to provide ideal function and esthetics. This is an extremely reliable technique for repairing even the most severe of dental problems to return you to a more complete smile and a functional bite. Crowns are used as a long-lasting correction of major dental problems. It is common for crowns and bridges to last for 10 years and many even for many more, which is as close to permanent as dental treatment can get.

Do you have old crowns that don’t look good?  We can replace old discolored crowns and old dark fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth. If your old crowns and bridges are dark at the gum line, chipped or worn, or just look unnatural let us show you what is available.

How long does it take to fit a dental crown?

Fitting a crown now can be a single appointment in many cases. Dr. Fletcher will remove any decay, repair cracks and damaged tooth structure, then shape the tooth, and then digitally scan the tooth.  The crown is then fabricated by our CEREC system in about 30 minutes after which the crown is permanently placed in your mouth.

What are the capabilities of crowns?

Crown and bridgework are very reliable solutions for major dental problems caused through accidents, diseases or natural wear and tear. Major problems can usually be corrected using these techniques. Where damage has occurred, resulting in broken, worn, or cracked teeth, or as the result of old fillings breaking, crowns and/or bridges can be used as a long-term solution.

Many people have sensitivity or pain from their teeth, which can be caused by cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing crowns on these teeth strengthens and relieves the pain and allows a return to full dental function for these teeth. In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause cosmetic problems due to staining or chipping. Porcelain crowns and bridges are suitable in cases where porcelain veneers are not adequate. In teeth with root canal fillings, crowns are needed to prevent breakage.
